1.) we could learn from a pitching coach to learn our fundimentals first before trying something to hard and to find errors and work them out before we make a mistake
2.) the equivilent of a changeup in writing would be like a suspense that doesnt go at all where you expect it too like someone randomly dies or something
3.) i think the author means that losing happens and at any momment you could make a mistake that costs you but you have to keep you head up and in there so that you dont make another or worse mistake that could put you in an even worse position than you are already
